Susana Balbo Malbec Pairing

Here is what we decided to pair with today’s dinner– Chicken Parmesan.

Today’s Pick – Susana Balbo Malbec

Susana Balbo Malbec is a type of wine produced by Susana Balbo Wines, a winery located in the Mendoza region of Argentina. Susana Balbo is a renowned winemaker who has been producing wine for over 30 years, and her Malbec is one of her most popular offerings.

This Malbec is made from 100% Malbec grapes, which are grown in the foothills of the Andes Mountains at altitudes of over 3,000 feet. The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully selected to ensure only the highest quality fruit is used in the wine.

The wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, which gives it a complex and layered flavor profile. It has notes of ripe blackberries, cherries, and plums, as well as hints of vanilla and spice. The tannins are firm but well-integrated, and the finish is long and smooth.

Ada—

This was full bodied and firm with a very high alcohol content (14.5%)!

Although we had it with chicken parmesan, the dish was cheesy and flavourful and the red wine went well with it.

My rating-

Rick— Very purple to pour. Smells great. And the legs! Wow, I’ve never seen legs like this. I need to do an article on observing the legs in a wine. It’s when you swirl the wine around the glass then stop, and you’ll see these little rivers of wine as it runs down the sides of the glass. This wasn’t the perfect match – we just made it up on our own, but it was a great meal, so it certainly didn’t hurt. I’d buy it again for sure.

Chicken Parmesan

Chicken Parmesan, also known as Chicken Parmigiana, is an Italian-American dish that consists of breaded and fried chicken cutlets topped with tomato sauce and melted mozzarella cheese. It is typically served with a side of spaghetti or other pasta.

To make Chicken Parmesan, chicken breasts are pounded thin and coated in a mixture of breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning. The chicken is then fried until golden brown and crispy.

A tomato sauce is prepared by sautéing onions and garlic in olive oil, then adding crushed tomatoes, salt, and pepper. The sauce is simmered until thick and flavorful.

The fried chicken cutlets are placed in a baking dish and topped with the tomato sauce and shredded mozzarella cheese. The dish is then baked in the oven until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Chicken Parmesan is a hearty and satisfying dish that is popular in Italian-American cuisine. It can be served as a main course for dinner, or as a sandwich for lunch. It is often accompanied by a green salad or garlic bread.
